Customer Account Extensions

Shopify's Customer Account UI Extensions enable developers to enhance and customize the customer account experience by integrating new functionalities directly into customer account pages. This extensibility allows for a more personalized and engaging user experience, aligning with specific business needs.


  1. Navigate your way to the Home tab under the Ribbon App

  1. Click on the 'Enable Customer Extensions' button

  • A window will open up. From here, click the Enable on Your Store button to enable the customer extension on your store

This will direct you to a new window. On the top of this window, select the dropdown and go to Checkout and Customer Accounts

This will direct you to the checkout page. From here, click the dropdown again and you will see the customer accounts section

Customer Account Extensions are versatile blocks of functionality that add value to the customer account. You can add these app blocks directly to customer account pages, such as the Order Status page.


In Ribbon's case, you have the flexibility to choose to include blocks such as resending a gift link and even a gift status banner. What's more, these blocks can be moved around by simply dragging and dropping them based on where you want the relevant block to be placed. It's that simple!
